Arabic K-6

Arabic Language K-6

“One language sets you in a corridor for life. Two languages open every door along the way.” - Frank Smith

The Arabic Language is one of the top five most popular languages across the globe. At St. Charbel’s College, we aim to assist our students in learning and understanding a second language that is highly valued around the world and is an important part of their heritage.

The Arabic teachers at St. Charbel’s College aim to prepare students to be able to communicate with their families and appreciate their cultural background, as well as provide them with a range of future opportunities both locally and internationally.

In line with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) requirements, the Arabic Language is a valued Key Learning Area (KLA) that is taught according to curriculum requirements. Our programs go beyond grammar and vocabulary - and are all about students embracing new sounds, broader expression and different ways of seeing the world. There is a focus on the Maronite Catholic faith, culture and maintaining the home language.

The Arabic Department at St. Charbel’s College present teaching and learning programs with a focus on theme-based dynamic lessons that involve speaking, listening, reading, writing, music, and performance. Bringing Arabic into the 21st Century, students are taught through innovative and creative ways that embrace multimedia elements, such as language-based applications, the use of iPads and interactive games.
